"He is So Faithful"

Recently I visited a friend I haven’t seen in months. Life has dramatically changed for both of us – She has a new home and a beautiful baby boy. She’s one of the few people who has a similar mountain she faces everyday with her family. Yet, the more I spoke with her about life and the struggles we face, the more I heard her say “He is so faithful”.

Something clicked for me.

She started seeing beyond the mountains in front of her.
She started focusing on the true character of Christ and held tightly to His promise.
There are some mountains in our lives that may never move, but even so, God is so faithful. I’m making a dedication to start putting this truth into my vocabulary daily and I challenge you to do the same.

Be reminded that His ways are not our ways.

He is good.

He is faithful.

He is trustworthy.

Refuge. Strength. Ever-Present.

Remind yourself of these three words today:

He is protection from the storm.

Strength when we are weak.

And always with us, helping us take the next step.

Don't You Feel It?

He's doing something in you.

Don't you see it?

He's growing you to be stronger, obedient, more loving and kind.

He's convicting you of your thought life and challenging you to seek His peace.

Don't you feel it?

He's testing your trust in Him, He's telling you to choose Jesus over worry.

Don't you hear it?

God will continue His work in you, you need only to be present and alert to His still, small voice.

He Was Talking About Heaven

We commonly read verse to mean that God can and will fulfill our wants because he can do anything.. But we are so off base!

Jesus was talking about salvation, the kingdom of heaven.

He was talking about the holiness and the greatness of God. How difficult it is for a rich man to enter into heaven to be with God. Jesus was telling the disciples that God is so magnificent that we will never fully understand all His ways. We will never fully understand His love for us. But because of His goodness, anything is possible with God.

No matter how broken or messed up someone is, they can still enter into the kingdom of heaven because God can use them for incredible things in this world.

You are never too far gone.

God is a powerful and loving God and with Him, anything is possible.

Right Alongside Helping Us

"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good." Romans‬ ‭8:26-28‬ ‭{MSG‬‬}

I love this paraphrase of Romans.

It's exactly what I needed to read on this Friday morning.

There has been something big happening in my life that I haven't been able to talk about or pray about. I don't have the strength. But knowing the Spirit is in me, right with me, and praying on my behalf is a comfort I rest in this morning.

If there is something on your heart that you are waiting on God for, don't give up trust or hope. He knows. He sees. He understands. And He has, and will provide good things for his children because of His great love for us.

A Life of Purpose

When we reach for perfection, we end up with worry, disappointment, and frustration.

When we pursue purpose, we end up seeing God in our every day, His blessings in the details, and His joy abundantly at work in every moment.

When we ask ourselves "what is the purpose of this day/event/moment" we are bringing clarity to the "why" we do what we do... Instead of the "how".

God wants us to live a life of purpose - with the core of everything we do being our love.

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'" - Luke 10:27

It's About a Choice

Some days it just isn't enough.

Some days the weight of the world feels like it's crashing in on us...

And that's where we lose our trust that our great God will fight for us.

It's awful how our thoughts can convince us we aren't good enough or that we aren't doing enough. When I see this verse, it speaks to my heart about a choice. A choice to trust God and rely in Him to provide...

Or to do it "my way" which will only lead to more worry and anxiety.

He sees you.

He knows you.

He understands.

He has, and He will fight for you.

He has the bigger plan in place.

{be still my soul and trust in Him}
