5 Ways to Be More Content

1. Write Out Your Prayers

Now is the best time to grab a cute planner (Like this pink one I bought from indigo) and start keeping track of your prayers. Every now and then, go back and highlight the prayers God has answered. You will have a physical documentation of what God is doing in your life, rather than having spiritual amnesia (as most of us do) and forgetting that God is always working in the smallest and biggest ways in our lives. 

2. Practice Gratitude

Once you start documenting your prayers, you may notice you keep asking and not thanking. The best way to become a more content person, is to practice gratitude. Start your prayers off by thanking God for 1-3 things in your life. Even better, keep a gratitude journal where you write 5 things every day that you are thankful for.


3. Trash in Trash out

What are you watching? What are you listening to? and even more important, what are you scrolling through? You may have heard comparison is the thief of joy. Television, music, and instagram isn't evil, but it can fuel thought thoughts of "not enough". Be more intentional with what you are consuming. 

4. Coffee Talks

You have people in your life who have mastered being content. Make a list of 3 people who you see as positive, happy, and content people and make coffee plans with them. Ask them how they have overcome frustration and disappointment in their life and take note on their perspective.


5. Breathe

Take time for yourself. Reduce noise, even if just for 15 minutes. Breathe. Read scripture. Journal. Do something that gives you space and reduces the rush in your day. Take a moment to slow down and appreciate this beautiful life.
